Ultrasound of the urinary system is a study that helps to study the general condition of the organs of the urinary system, to study the functioning of the kidneys, bladder, ureters, and adrenal glands. Ultrasound is one of the most effective methods that allows you to identify diseases of the urinary system in the early stages.

  • Indications for conducting the study

    • pain in the lower back;
    • lower abdominal pain;
    • pains and cuts during urination;
    • frequent urination;
    • blood in the urine;
    • protein in the urine;
    • kidney injuries;
    • cystic manifestations in the anamnesis;
    • presence of inflammatory processes;
    • suspicion of neoplasms.

    Ultrasound of the urinary system is performed transabdominally.

  • Preparation for the examination of the urinary system

    Adults are recommended to drink 1-1.5 liters of water or other liquid one hour before the ultrasound examination. Children should be given water to drink 20 minutes before the ultrasound. Do not urinate before the procedure.
