D-dimer is a marker of thrombus formation and fibrinolysis, which is one of the products of blood clot breakdown.

    pulmonary embolism;
    disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome (DVZ);
    complicated course of pregnancy (gestosis, preeclampsia, diabetes and kidney disease).
