Nasal smear for eosinophils

Nasal smear for eosinophils - examination of mucus from the nose for the purpose of diagnosing eosinophils in the nasal cavity. Eosinophils - blood cells that belong to the group of leukocytes, are markers - help to determine pathology (allergy, infection, parasitic invasion, tissue inflammation). Analysis of a nasal swab for eosinophils can distinguish an infectious runny nose from an allergic runny nose. The presence of eosinophils in a nasal swab indicates the initial stage of the development of allergic rhinitis or rhinitis. A significant excess of indicators can indicate an active form of an allergic disease, and the presence of a parasitic infection in the body cannot be excluded, on the basis of which additional examination is necessary.
