Rotavirus is a viral infectious disease affecting the intestinal mucosa. The virus is transmitted by the fecal-oral route (through dirty hands, objects), the airborne route of infection is also possible. The danger of the disease is that it causes dehydration and intoxication. If the baby has diarrhea, contact the pediatrician immediately.

Symptoms
The incubation period is up to 7 days. Then the following symptoms appear in children:
- Increase in temperature
- Nausea, vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal pains
- Runny nose, cough, sore throat

Diagnosis of the disease is carried out on the basis of the clinical picture and laboratory tests of blood, vomitus, feces for the presence of specific antibodies.
