An endocrinologist is a highly qualified doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of the endocrine system. The most common diseases treated by an endocrinologist are:

• Type I, II diabetes mellitus - a violation of insulin synthesis or a change in the sensitivity of receptors to it, which leads to an increase in the level of sugar in the blood;
• Non-diabetes is a clinical syndrome that is manifested by a decrease in the production of the hormone vasopressin and, as a result, a violation of the ability of the kidneys to concentrate urine;
• Endemic goiter - enlargement of the thyroid gland due to iodine deficiency in the body;
• Hypothyroidism – decrease in the production of thyroid hormones;
• Hyperthyroidism – excessive synthesis of thyroid hormones;
• Autoimmune thyroiditis – inflammation of the thyroid gland, which is accompanied by damage or destruction of certain cells of the organ;
• Adenoma of the thyroid gland is a benign neoplasm that develops from the glandular cells of the organ;
• Hyperparathyroidism – increased production of parathyroid hormone by the parathyroid gland and increased calcium content in the blood;
• Prolactinoma is a neoplasm of the pituitary gland, which leads to excessive synthesis of the hormone prolactin;
• Itsenko-Cushing's disease - excessive level of cortisol in the blood;
• Adrenal gland insufficiency – decrease in the synthesis of hormones by the cortex of the adrenal glands;
• Acromegaly - excessive production of growth hormone and other diseases.
