Preparing for the study

There is no need to prepare for an echocardiogram. The only recommendation is that you should not drink alcohol or smoke for the day before the examination.

An ultrasound examination of the heart has no contraindications and is completely painless.
A heart ultrasound should be performed on children with birth injuries, if the baby is not sucking well, cries frequently, or has blue skin around the lips. It is also important for children during the period of active growth and adolescents before engaging in physical activity at any age.
If a child often complains of fatigue, you should consult a cardiologist and undergo an ECG and echocardiography.
