The entry of foreign bodies into the ENT organs is quite a common situation in young children, and sometimes in adults. In this case, there is a very high risk of complications. In case of impact, you should urgently seek specialized help from an otolaryngologist and do not try to remove the foreign body yourself, in order to prevent it from moving further. Children quite often during play or as an experiment can push small foreign objects into their nose, ear, or mouth. To avoid such situations, it is recommended not to allow children to play with small objects until they are at least three years old. In adults, such situations occur when safety precautions are not followed with small objects (nails, bolts, nuts, pins, etc.), as well as when cotton swabs are used incorrectly. It is possible to hit hard small particles of food in the throat (bones from fruits, fish). An insect can also get into the ear canal. If such a case occurs, seek emergency medical care from a specialist as a matter of urgency.
