The vaccine should be administered by intramuscular injection. The preferred injection site is the deltoid muscle of the shoulder or the anterolateral area of the upper thigh.

The drug cannot be administered intravenously.

  • What are the indications for the Gardasil 9 vaccine?

    Gardasil® 9 vaccine is indicated for active immunization of individuals aged 9 years and older to prevent the following diseases caused by HPV:

    • Precancerous conditions and cancers of the cervix, vulva, vagina, and anal canal caused by HPV types included in the vaccine.
    • Genital warts ( Condyloma acuminata ), caused by certain types of HPV.

    Gardasil 9 prevents infection with oncogenic HPV strains (16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58) and strains that cause condyloma (6, 11).

  • What are the contraindications to the Gardasil 9 vaccine?
    • Allergy to vaccine components.
    • Acute infectious diseases.
    • Pregnancy (vaccination is postponed until the end of pregnancy).
  • What are the side effects of the Gardasil 9 vaccine?

    The Gardasil 9 vaccine is generally well tolerated, but like any vaccine, it can cause side effects.

    Possible side effects:

    1. Local reactions (most common, short-term)

    • Pain, redness, swelling at the injection site
    • Feeling itchy or uncomfortable

    2. General reactions of the body

    • Headache
    • Fatigue, weakness
    • Slight fever
    • Dizziness or nausea

    3. Rare but possible reactions

    • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, anaphylaxis - extremely rare)
    • Fainting (may occur due to fear of injection or pain shock, especially in adolescents)
    • Muscle or joint pain
